White Winter Images from Darryl and June
Darry Allan Smith was producing images here in the kinté space long before YouTube.com—or anything seriously resembling it. Instead of video we went for animated still images and work like “Bryan Wilhite: Sweet Honey in the Rock Woman” is the result.
We could not continue these experiments as events led him to Detroit and the white winter you see at left. Darryl, man, we will work something out! It has been great working with you!
June Edmonds is an internationally-travelled visualizer. Her public work for the MTA is featured in “June Edmonds: Public and Private” here in the kinté space.
It clearly looks like in a moment of introspection in her San Pedro home she whipped up a Sax player in the snow. Hey, June! When are we going to hang out? I still want to do your version of a video short that is cross between “Freeman Manifestation: Robin Strayhorn Gallery Show” and “Michael Massenburg: Massenburg Faces Five”! What’s up? Are you down?
