Dr. Darryl Dickson-Carr

Dr. Darryl Dickson-Carr was my roommate in college and quite a busy guy. It’s great to have him on board for a spell. The last time he was featured here at kintespace.com was back in 2001, “Dr. Darryl B. Dickson-Carr: The Satirical Interview.” He’s moving with his family from Florida to Texas for a new academic post. We look forward to any spare time he may have to ‘guest Blog’ here in the rasx() context.

lala.com

I get the feeling that lala.com will be the text-book case of ‘perfect’ marketing. However, I do not see myself mailing away too many of my CDs. Maybe it’s a better version of spun.com? lala.com is featured in episode 52 of dl.tv.

FLAC

Another episode 52 bit covered FLAC. This immediately made me wonder why new sound conversion plug-ins for Sound Forge take so long to appear.

IPac

Kudos for the ‘special’ TWiT episode featuring the dudes from IPac. Now I don’t have to hate on Leo Laporte for making $2000 a month on Google Ads.

nbpc.tv

The National Black Programming Consortium has a Web site. Like many slick black sites, they have no Blog. I don’t feel too bad for not knowing about this site for so long because I am thinking that Stanley Nelson gets invited to the NBPC parties where I am not invited. Only a few of us lapsed NAACP members care to remember that the NAACP was not allowed to own land—and it was controlled by ‘well-meaning’ white people. The assumption here is that NBPC has more “mature” and “complex” concerns—with NAACP problems of “balance”—when it comes to “black” filmmaking. It’s sophisticated problem requiring the finest education and the most refined talent.

brickfilms.com

On the other hand brickfilms.com lowers the bar a bit. Have Legos? Make film.

ZAM3D by electric rain

ZAM3D is downloadable as a free trial. “First 3D software of its kind provides developers and designers with a quick and easy solution for creating 3D interface elements for Windows Vista application development.”
