An MS Project Server Implementation with Two Text Files

I haven’t been tracking the Microsoft Project Blog but I am sure there is at least one hint toward an apology for Microsoft Project Server 2003. About two years ago, I had the misfortune of trying to install Microsoft Project Server with SharePoint! I’m scarred and bitter. Moan! The wounds are so deep that, much to the disappointment of Project Server fans, I am actually satisfied with my implementation of a Project Server: one XSLT file and one CSS file. The XSL transforms the XML output from Microsoft Project 2003 and renders it as XHTML. When you have less than 40 developers on your project, just have one guy maintain the Project file, spit out some XML to a server and we all get to read what’s going on—without the need for Microsoft Project. My apologies for my simplistic view…
