Thinking Drupal

Shortly after Leo Laporte and pals riffed about “Blog fatigue,” in some computer shop in some big city, another TWiT show, with that “Canadian chick,” fell into my mind. This one was a shameless promotion of lullabot.com and Drupal. So now I’m thinking of using Drupal for my next, new Web project. The following table summarizes:

“[Drupal and the New Paradigm for Content Management](http://digitalsolutions.ph/couchkamotereviews/newCMS)” This post really highlights the taxonomy (categorization) features of drupal. And it also distinguishes Drupal as a *framework* while WordPress is an application.
[Drupal, Introduced by DreamHost.com](http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Drupal) I always consider my host’s opinion of a product. It often reveals real-world issues—especially those related to performance, ease of maintenance and scaleability.
[Lullabot Drupal Podcasts](http://www.lullabot.com/podcast) This site features slick video tutorials for installing or upgrading Drupal… I don’t hear any Belgian (or Hungarian) guys in this group but it appears that they mean to put an American human face on Drupal—and corner some future Drupal, Web-design market.

Yep, that was a good convo. I peeped it too. Lots of folks steer clear of Drupal CMS b/c of its complexity, but it is very extensible. The developer community seems to be quite vibrant too. Perhaps we can compare notes?

Sure: I'm a few days away from getting started and will leave a Blog trail momentarily...

Hi Brian, thanks for taking time to read my somewhat difficult article on Drupal and taxonomy. I've since been able to articulate the issue better and have created this more concrete discussion. Would appreciate your comments :)

Ruben, I took a look at "The Power of Drupal Categories" and am curious about how many "parts" there are to Drupal taxonomy. So far your post shows me that there is just nested vocabularies. I'll have to read up on this...
