DEM topography data should be used to provide realistic landscapes in tools like Bryce. I was looking at the coastline of West Africa with Google Earth a few months ago and was amazed by the vascular shapes. Speaking of Bryce, one of the next unknowns on my list is getting a feel for scale. I might accidentally build a highway that’s the size of a mountain range!
I suppose reading the Graphics card guides, parts one and two, at Tom’s Hardware to get a feel for what’s new now. I just keep feeling that these things are just hot pieces of metal. There is going to be cool computing movement one day…
