Songhay System Data Access Framework on CodePlex.com!

Songhay.Data project under source control...For those diehard fans of Songhay System data management solutions you have already read “Songhay.NET: An Overview of the Songhay XML Namespace” and “Songhay.NET: An Overview of the Songhay Namespace” but are asking, “Where’s the source code?” The code is under the MIT License and available at Microsoft’s CodePlex.com!

It is clear to me that CodePlex.com is to Team Foundation Server as what Silverlight Streaming is to Silverlight. There was no way I was going to use Team Foundation Server on my personal machines without something like CodePlex.com. This is one of few cases where Microsoft powers of persuasion acted on me in a graceful manner.

But the grace was short lived: first, after installing Team Explorer, it was not possible to add my existing Solution to a Team Project. My guess is that Solution items like my Database projects were not compatible. This meant generating a new Solution file with only the C# projects for source control and starting over with “Connecting to a CodePlex Project using Team Explorer.”

The screenshot above shows what these projects look like when opened in my old Solution file. The assumption here is that these projects are now safely under source control and its source-control features will work correctly even when in a Solution that is not under control.
