KRST Unity Center Hosts World Traveler & Historian Runoko Rashidi, September 23 at 6:00 PM

Runoko RashidiThe KRST Unity Center of AfRaKan Spiritual Science is honored to host accomplished scholar, historian and world traveler, Runoko Rashidi on Sunday, September 23 at 6:00 PM and Monday, September 24 at 6:30 PM, at KRST Unity, 7825 S. Western Ave., Los Angeles, 90047. Dr. Rashidi will be presenting the First Annual Dr. Asa G. Hilliard III Lecture Series. His presentations entitled, “The African Presence In Europe Revisited, Ancient and Modern”, will be a visual journey through history.

Both presentations will be in honor of scholar and educator Dr. Asa G. Hilliard, III who recently died while traveling in Egypt (Kemet). Rashidi, who is a colleague and personal friend of the late Dr. Hilliard, states, “a true giant has fallen and he will be sorely missed”.

As a scholar, Runoko Rashidi has been called the world’s leading authority on the African presence in Asia. In 1999, he led a group of seventeen African Americans to India and became the first ever non-Indian recipient of the prestigious Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Award. Dr. Rashidi will be leading group tours to Northern Morocco and Moorish Spain, December 2-13, 2007, and the Splendors of the Nile Tour, January 13-27, 2008.
