where disease and lacking meet
©2004 Timeka Drew
people operate on moments of convoluted care,
where
vaginas are wedding rings shoved on swollen fingers
spitting seeds never meant to be planted
nourishing the need for pills to eradicate
what’s currently considered
disease
latex gloves meant to hold the sweat of sexual infirmity
inside the puss filled stream of lies
as he makes “love” to me
never will it be “us”, but the sum of our sexual encounters
interacting to see meaning,
and
in his mind, there is reciprocity/
he reflects his emptiness onto me/
he perpetuates his need for vacancy/
lacking
by withholding that which can grow life in me
