@blkintechnology: “Where are our thought leaders? Our rock stars in tech?”
Where are our thought leaders? Our rock stars in tech? Where R the conversations around architecting & building something? #stateofblacktech
Building an app and coding is one thing, Architecting, Building & maintaining infrastructure to run the app is another. #stateofblacktech
@blkintechnology most Black (North American) would-be rock stars have no sincere interest in "black outreach"/public speaking...
@blkintechnology too many technically educated Blacks have an aesthetic that makes conversations like these impossible
@blkintechnology too many educated and employed Blacks learned to shut up and sit in the shadows so they can pay their mortgage
@blkintechnology I assume you have no idea who is speaking to you so here's my dashboard: https://songhaysystem.com/#/dash ...and scene...
@BryanWilhite Understood. Their silence hurts us. We need beacons. We need thought leaders. We need more voices.
@BryanWilhite They don't necessarily need to do "black outreach" but their presence is needed in other ways.
@BryanWilhite It's not really these conversations I would like to see them be a part of.
@blkintechnology I wrote this article in 2009. As far as I know, a man of Kwabena Boahen's caliber stands alone: https://kintespace.com/rasxlog/?p=1505
@BryanWilhite Stands alone in what regards?
@blkintechnology he mentions ancient Africa and modern technology in the same breath for scientific, objective purposes-no Chewbacca defense
