A Tall Art Girl in Paris

My favorite photo. Standing infront of the Eiffel TowerLisa Diane Wedgeworth disappeared off the face of my planet years ago. This happens quite frequently to me and others who struggle with the economics of not being born as ugly as George Bush.

Every now and then I get a surprise—a respite from the same old storyline from Good Times—when news like Lisa’s comes in… She and her daughter just got back from Paris. Remember Paris? You know every one of the O.G. cats like Miles Davis has their youthful indescretions in Paris. But Lisa Diane Wedgeworth’s tango is parental: she and her daughter, Lissete, went to Paris. It’s great to get this American curiosity for Europe out of the system early.

Check out Lisa’s Paris set on flickr.com. Back in 2000, “Lisa Diane Wedgeworth: goddess series” was an instant hit! After it was posted, some fancy non-profit organization related to breast cancer contacted me trying to reach Lisa. This was one of the earliest examples of the ‘strange’ ways a project like the kinté space can change people’s lives for the better.

You can catch was Lisa Diane Wedeworth is doing now in her online journal bits & pieces. Her funny stories about Paris and Los Angeles are very interesting.

Afronaut,

I haven't seen you in a long time, but I must say I love you and have missed your sense of humor. You make me laugh and I appreciate you thinking of me enough to write the article.

Much respect, love and appreciation to you.
